Cockpit

If you don’t already have a type rating, that’s not a problem. We will cover the costs for your full type rating for the Airbus A320 family.

For our cockpit crews based in Germany, knowledge of German at least at level B2 is required. For crews at international stations, proof of English proficiency at ICAO Language Proficiency Level 4 is sufficient.

You need either EU citizenship or a residence and work permit in the country where you will be employed. Additionally, you need an unrestricted valid passport.

Our current fleet consists of aircraft from the Airbus A320 family, the world’s leading model for short and medium-haul flights. Our aircraft are continuously updated to provide the best possible travel experience.

We are also excited about a strong decision from the Lufthansa Group: Eurowings will receive 40 brand-new Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft. These modern jets offer more capacity, are significantly quieter and more fuel-efficient, an important step in strengthening our competitiveness. The first aircraft is expected to be produced and delivered in 2027. Gradually, the new planes will replace the Airbus A319 fleet and older A320 models. However, Eurowings will continue to operate an Airbus fleet.

Unfortunately not - to apply with us, you already need to hold a valid pilot licence. This can be an EASA ATPL (A), a CPL (A) with ATPL credit, or an MPL (A).

You can complete your pilot training at a flight school - for example at the European Flight Academy, the Lufthansa Group’s flight school.

Explore the world together with friends and family with attractive flight benefits within the Star Alliance and with additional partner airlines. In addition, after 12 months of employment you will receive an annual vacation flight within the Eurowings route network - perfect for discovering new destinations yourself.
