Internship & Bachelor / Master thesis

Some companies within the Lufthansa Group, such as Lufthansa Technik for example, regularly offer internships for school students. However, these opportunities are highly sought after, and places are often filled quickly.

All school internship opportunities can be found in our job portal. Simply select “Pupil/School Student” under “I am…” and “School Internship” under “Entry Level” in the filters.

If there are currently no suitable vacancies available, you can create a Job Subscription using these criteria and receive email notifications as soon as a relevant position is published.

No. Internships at Lufthansa Group are generally only offered as full-time internships.

A second internship in the same Lufthansa Group company is only possible if at least one of these two internships is a mandatory internship in the study regulations.

No. All internship positions are published as individual job postings. This allows you to see exactly what the internship involves, decide which opportunities match your interests, and apply for the positions that best suit you.

To make your search easier, we recommend setting up a Job Subscription in your Career Cockpit. This way, you will receive an email notification as soon as suitable positions become available.

To make the internship as effective as possible, interns should be integrated into the team, daily workflows, and the working environment.
In general, it would not support the educational purpose of an internship if interns were only carrying out assigned tasks from home. Therefore, working remotely is generally not possible and is only done in few exceptional situations.

Matriculation is required during the entire internship period or your internship takes place between your Bachelor and Master studies (Gap Year). Maximum duration of the Gap Year internship is 6 months, and the end of the internship must be within one year of the completion of the Bachelor degree.

At Lufthansa Group, most theses are given to students following the completion of their internships with us. Each department that would like to supervise a Bachelor / Master thesis not given to an intern sets up a job offer that is then posted on lufthansagroup.careers. If you cannot find anything there, you could think about applying to an internship position in an area that interests you and asking for the possibility of writing a thesis simultaneously.

Colleagues will certainly be happy to help with tips and local contacts wherever they can. However, finding accommodation is ultimately the responsibility of the interns themselves.
