Please note that the answers only refer to applications as Cabin Crew Member (all genders) at Lufthansa City Airlines.
Due to our Shared Leadership principle, you will automatically be able to work as a self-reliant flight attendant (Leading Flight Attendant) after 24 months at the latest (no purser system / no CDC on board Lufthansa City Airlines aircraft).
After approximately three years of service, there is the opportunity to take on an additional function, for example as part of crew training (on board or in the training center), personnel selection or in other fields.
In this young and growing company, you will quickly find opportunities for career development. At Lufthansa City Airlines, a "Shared Leadership" concept is practiced in the cabin. You share responsibility in the cabin as a Leading Flight Attendant (LFA) or develop into a Supervision Flight Attendant (SFA). The progression to LFA and SFA roles is also reflected in the salary.
You typically receive the additional function as an LFA at Lufthansa City Airlines after 24 months, and at the earliest after one year of flight experience as well as the completion of appropriate training. The tasks of an LFA include initiating the Cabin-to-Cabin Briefing and the responsibility of being the main contact person for the captain to ensure that the cabin crew is always thoroughly informed. Additionally, the LFA is responsible for implementing and coordinating standard and emergency procedures as outlined in the operations manual.
If you have already accumulated at least 12 months of flight experience as a flight attendant, you could directly take on responsibility as an LFA within our Shared Leadership system at Lufthansa City Airlines and share it with your colleagues (we will of course prepare you for this with appropriate training).
As an SFA, after successfully passing an assessment, you will undergo several days of training focusing on leadership and professional qualifications. Following this, you will take on an expanded range of tasks on board. For instance, as a direct representative of the team leader, an SFA is responsible for evaluating and developing employees and ensuring the quality of the onboard product in collaboration with other specialized cabin departments.
